Surelight Lights Injured Servicemen Race Car

Racing drivers from all over the world gathered in Northamptonshire a few weeks ago for the Silverstone 24 Hours endurance race.

One of the teams to enter was Surelight Sponsored, Team BRIT (British Racing Injured Troops). It was set up by former serviceman Dave Player to help rehabilitate troops returning from the frontline with injuries.

‘Let It Snow’ Christmas Tree lights up London

Created from 365 wooden sledges this 11 meter tree has been constructed in Granary Square, Kings Cross, London to celebrate the Christmas season.

This illuminated sculpture is an artistic collaboration between Hello Wood, a design studio from Budapest and Creatmosphere, a London-based conceptual lighting studio from London.

After the attack in Paris on Friday 13th November, expressions of condolence has echoed throughout the world.

Many famous landmarks and buildings have been lit up with the colours of the French flag in a gesture of solidarity. Surelight has worked closely with many of our customers to create French tricolour light shows. Our in house team of technical experts have programmed some iconic projects free of charge including the Straddle Building in our hometown of Sheffield to show our gesture of solidarity.

Back to School, With 'Circadian' LED Lighting
A new school in Kongsberg, Norway are pioneering a new ‘circadian’ lighting system to improve pupils’ performance and well-being.

The school opens its doors this week to 230 primary school pupils. The school is working closely with lighting researchers and scientists to see if their tuneable lighting really can change the behaviour of schoolchildren and improve their academic performance. It is one of the first schools to take a full circadian lighting system throughout.

Tesla unveils new power storage technology

Tesla Motors, the US car manufacturer, has unveiled a battery backup system to store renewable solar energy.

As a great supporter of renewable energy, Surelight have been working with similar systems alongside the UK Government Department of Energy and Climate Change. Recent projects include one of the first green energy projects on such a scale in the UK at the prestigious Brunel University in London.

Surelight Lights Up Network Rail’s Factory

Surelight, is delighted to have supplied around 100 of its energy efficient high bay LED lights to Network Rail for its new, state of the art concrete sleeper factory in Doncaster. Sleepers are the supports for the rails on railway tracks which in the past were wooden.

The Trackwork Moll factory, which will produce around 400,000 of the 700,000 sleepers that Network Rail needs every year, is seen by Martin Elwood, director of Network Rail’s national delivery service, as ‘crucial’ in delivering ‘better value for money whilst maintaining a safe, reliable network’.
