Expansion for Olmec Advanced Materials & Surelight.com
Surelight expands it's team of specialists with new sales manager, Simon Bingley.
Simon lives, and was born and bred, in Sheffield, having attended Abbeydale Grange at the same time as famous Sheffielder, Lord Sebastian Coe – who he is pleased to have met as a boy! He has joined the company with a background of more than 30 years in the construction industry, previously specialising in building materials amongst other things, which brought 'salesman of the year' awards to Simon more than once.
Paul Lancaster, managing director of Olmec/Surelight says "I have known Simon for around 10 years and am delighted he has joined us. Our LED Lighting, Electroluminescent Panels and Electroluminescent Wire lighting divisions have been growing fairly quickly in recent years and we felt that we were ready to expand our external sales team to help meet increasing demand. Simon brings a wealth of experience with him that complements our existing expertise and we are looking forward to his contribution to our future growth."
When not busy with Olmec/Surelight, Simon is very interested in sports, and in particular, is a keen participant in crown green bowls (a sport which brought him to know Paul), which he has been playing for around 40 years, since he was just a boy. A member of 2 clubs, Whiteley Woods and Hillsbrough, Simon has represented South Yorkshire in county competitions, where he has reached the final and has won individual competitions such as the Romiley Arms open in Stockport and doubles competitions such as the Sheffield Sports Social Open Doubles in 2011. He also tries to find time to indulge in his interests of music, cinema and quizzes.
Simon can be contacted at Olmec Advanced Materials Ltd/Surelight.com on 0114 236 1606 or at simon@olmec.co.uk.

Surelight's EL Wire and LED products have been used for many an Opera in the past, but never, perhaps with as much prestige as at the Albert Hall, at the last night of The Proms, by one of the world's leading Soprano's, delivering a powerful rendition of Rule Britannia!
Soprano, Susan Bullock performed 'Rule Britannia' at the close of the evening at the Last Night of the Proms 2011, wearing cardboard armor and matching shield adorned with Surelight's EL Wire. Designed by Clare Grotefeld, freelance special effects and props maker, the costume features the four floral emblems of the UK – each illuminated by about three metres of Surelight Electroluminescent Wire. A spear wrapped in EL Wire hides a cannon prepped to shower the audience at the 117th BBC Proms with 100 streamers.
"That's been the question on everyone's lips," she says. "Not, what are you going to sing?" but "what are you going to wear?".
It's a crowning moment of a glittering career. With her powerful, gleaming voice, Bullock is now firmly established as one of the world's leading dramatic sopranos.
Founded in 1895, The Proms is an eight-week summer season of daily orchestral classical music concerts and other events held annually, predominantly in the Royal Albert Hall in London. Each season currently consists of more than 70 concerts in the Albert Hall, a series of chamber concerts at Cadogan Hall, additional Proms in the Park events across the United Kingdom on the last night, and associated educational and children's events.

Sheffield's newest and coolest bar makes energy savings with Surelight LED light bulbs!

When standing at the bar in the newly refurbished Studio 557 in Sheffield, the last thing you'd be thinking about is the energy savings being made just above you.
When refurbishing the existing Bar & Grill, then the Walnut Champagne Bar; Designer, Mark Platts from spacepad had energy saving in mind. All 15 of the Surelight MR16 LED lights above the bar use less energy than just 2 traditional halogen bulbs of the same brightness.
Surelight's 1x3Watt LED MR16 GU5.3 light bulbs use only 3W of power, compared to 25W of a traditional Halogen of equivalent brightness.
Save, Save, Save!
The lighting above the bar is an great example of how much energy cost savings could be made by swapping existing bulbs to LED alternatives.
15 x Traditional Halogen Bulbs @ 25W = 375W
15 x LED Bulbs @ 3W = 45W
Throughout the building Spacepad used 25 of our LED MR16 Lights. The kitchen needed bright lighting, so our 10W Lucidus MR16 LEDs (which are much brighter than a traditional 50W halogen bulbs) were used. Not only did our Lucidus LEDs save on energy costs, they also made the kitchen brighter than would be possible with the same quantity of traditional halogen light bulbs.

Here is a typical example of a medium sized Hotel using 3,000 Light Bulbs:
Now that's shocking, right?
If you think that's amazing, look at how much money can be saved in the same hotel over the life time of the LED light bulb:

If you own a hotel, or even a residential property; energy cost savings can be made by using Surelight's range of replacement LED light bulbs.
